Do You Take On Other People’s Thoughts?

When I was pregnant, people would say:

“You think you’re busy now? Just wait until the baby comes.”

And even though I knew they meant well, notice how your shoulders tense a little just reading that?

Our minds grab onto ideas like that (often delivered by other people!) and file them away as the truth.

They were right, I was busy.

And 7 years later my days are still full – school runs, endless snacks, “Mummmm, can you come?” on repeat.

But here’s where the shift happened for me – and it can happen for you too.

One morning when V was little, I was feeling the usual rush of making breakfast, unloading the dishwasher and trying to do my makeup all at once… and I stopped. I took one slow breath.

I knew what I was doing so I told myself:

  1. I have plenty of time.

  2. I do one thing at a time.

Say it to yourself right now. I have plenty of time.

Let your shoulders drop as you say it. Notice how your breathing changes.

After a few days, I caught myself moving more slowly, breathing more deeply (and still getting everything done).

Same start time, same day… completely different vibe.

Now, imagine walking into your morning tomorrow already feeling that way.

You’re moving through breakfast, school drop off, work, totally differently. You’ve planned it that way and you believe it. You feel spacious, calm, in control.

That’s what I create every week using the planning system I teach – and it’s why, when the weekend now rolls around, I don’t even feel like I need a break… but I still take it.

You can start doing this too.

The thought comes first, the plan follows, and before you know it, the feeling is yours.

When you’re ready to plan your week so it feels spacious too, you’ll find exactly how I do it here.
