How To Calculate Your Overwhelm

I talk a lot about mindset and overwhelm at the thought level and how we can handle situations at work and in life, but I’ve also been talking to many women about overwhelm at the task level.

That’s when you feel overwhelmed because your demands are greater than your resources. Resources are time, energy, and money, and demands are the things on your to-do list.

A few of my clients are doing this exercise this week, and you may want to try it, too.

On one side of the page, write down all the demands on you at work and home.

Next to each demand, write down what resources are needed to fulfil it.

This will reveal whether you don’t have the time, energy, or money to do something. It’s a perfect way to narrow down and troubleshoot at the task level.

We obviously all go around saying, “I’m so overwhelmed, there’s so much to do,” but we don’t know how to quantify it.

This will actually reveal what you need to let go of or get help with. Let me know how you go!
