How Did I Do with My 2024 Goals?

2025 feels BIG! The number feels exciting, monumental, a milestone.

But for now, I’ve dug out my 2024 goal-setting notes. I had reflected on 2023 back then and then envisaged the 2024 I wanted.

And the most effective part? I got help right away. I can see where I looked for support and how that made such a difference in my 2024.
First up – I wanted to focus on my coaching skills. That did not happen in the way I expected (I’m still waiting on a message back from someone who should totally hire me as a coach for their company!) but it happened in other ways. I coached inside the incredible Whole You health coaching program. I earned more money than I expected to in 2024, and I worked super hard in the evenings doing trainings on coaching techniques.
Secondly – and this goal has been there for a long time, I wanted to cut down on my wine intake. This is a tricky one to describe, I don’t think I have a problem but a bad week, a pandemic, a call from a friend, can see me enjoying a few glasses before I know it. I got support right away in January with a behaviour change coach and by the end of the year, my mind is truly clear of the drama of drinking. I will have a few drinks with friends but the drama about it is gone, I feel good during the week when I don’t drink, and of course, I went on to study behaviour change to use in my own courses.

Hmm, the next one. Do a backbend! Lol, this did not happen and I am OK with it. I dipped in and out of this goal, doing YouTube training in the evenings, watching V pop up into a backbend and say “See? It’s easy!”. I have accepted my office chair body probably can’t do this by herself. I can do a backbend over a fit ball, and that’s enough for me now. When we don’t really want the goal that badly, that’s when it doesn’t happen and I can see this here. I had a vision, but not much commitment or belief in myself. I did have a great year fitness wise and really embraced HIIT workouts, so we’ll say that was my reclaiming of youth.
Lastly – write a book! This was an outlandish one but I’ve done it! I wrote the Not Dead Yet book back in late February using the Get It Done’s Write Your Book In One Day event. This was so much fun and felt so easy. I even won the prize for being one of the first 5 to have their draft done! It showed again, that with the right support, and belief (mostly built by the team who kept telling me I could do it in one day), the draft is there. My business coach knows the vision for my Not Dead Yet book and who is going on the book tour with me as the musical act (read: his autobiography is called Not Dead Yet so I know it’s a fit).

It was a fun one and if you take anything from this, it’s that support and belief are the two things that will get you to your goals the fastest. Even if that support and belief is held by others ;)

Happy New Year!
